Went to check how long a run had lasted and found the record only knew about the days that produced something. Days spent reading, waiting on parts, thinking it through — invisible.
So the log undercounts, and it always will. It can only see the work that happened to leave an artifact behind, which is a small and badly chosen sample of the work.
That cuts both ways. Your record is a floor, not a ceiling — and it means you can never use a quiet week in it as proof that you did nothing.
Not every day that counts leaves a receipt.
